We know commissioning a bespoke piece of jewellery is deeply personal. Here are the answers to your most important questions, handled directly by our team.
Your Bespoke Design Journey
Your journey starts with a simple, complimentary conversation. Browse our site for inspiration, then schedule a consultation or submit an enquiry here. You’ll be assigned a dedicated personal design consultant who will review your ideas and get in touch via email, phone or video call to begin the design.
Because we do not use pre-made mounts, and everything, from the individual stone to the metal weight, is sourced and crafted specifically for your order, our process is meticulous. Due to the intricate detail involved in most bespoke designs, the crafting time is typically 4–5 weeks.
Yes, we require 50% payment before any bespoke work commences. This enables us to secure all materials and dedicate our master craftsmen to your unique piece without delay.
CAD stands for Computer-Aided Design. After our initial consultation, we turn your vision into a precise 3D rendering. You will review this design and approve it before we proceed to crafting.
Absolutely. You will receive email updates as your ring progresses, or you can log into your own client portal on our website to track the progress of your piece.
Yes, we can offer a silver cast sample package so you can see the design in person.
- Cost: we require a fully refundable deposit (usually £100 per ring, sometimes £150–£200 for complex designs).
- Samples: our samples are made from silver with cubic zirconia stones (diamond replicas). They are made to a stock size (approx. N or O), but we will include a ‘to-scale’ cubic zirconia to demonstrate the size of your chosen diamond.
- Return: you must return the cast using the prepaid envelope provided.
Yes. Please call our design team to discuss your project. We regularly assist clients with redesigns, often incorporating old stones from the previous piece into the new design.
Diamonds & Gemstones
Yes, all our diamonds are certified. We only offer two accreditations: GIA (Gemological Institute of America) and IGI (International Gemological Institute).
GIA is generally considered the stricter standard. Diamonds graded by IGI may often be found at lower prices (sometimes 15–25% lower) because their colour and clarity grades can be one or two grades lower than they would be if sent to GIA.
No, absolutely not. Mined diamonds and lab-grown diamonds are both genuine, real diamonds. They display the same visual, physical and chemical properties. The main difference is their origin: mined diamonds come from the Earth, and sustainable lab-grown diamonds are created by scientists in a lab under conditions that replicate the Earth’s natural processes.
We source our diamonds from around the world, including India and Europe. We only source from mines that are Kimberley Process accredited to ensure our commitment to conflict-free sourcing.
We have a detailed guide on the 4Cs (Cut, Colour, Clarity, Carat) in our Education section that explains all the characteristics of a diamond. Additionally, we can send you a ‘to-scale’ cubic zirconia sample in the post to help you visualise the size of your chosen diamond.
Metals, Warranty & Aftercare
We work with 18K Rose, White and Yellow Gold, and 950 Platinum. For white metal rings, we recommend platinum due to its durability and natural colour.
We can do this through rhodium replating, which gives the gold a brilliant white finish. However, this is not a permanent solution as the rhodium will wear off over time. The yellow gold underneath may eventually show through, requiring replating every 1–2 years to maintain the white appearance.
This depends on how often you wear your jewellery and its exposure to elements like oils, soaps and lotions. We recommend you remove your jewellery when cleaning or doing housework to protect the plating.
Yes. By UK law, all our jewellery is hallmarked in the United Kingdom according to its metal content. You will see the following hallmarks: 750 (for 18K Gold) and 950 (for Platinum and Palladium).
You have one full year of warranty covering any manufacturing defects, which includes free prong tightening, re-polishing, rhodium plating and cleaning services. Full terms are stated in our T&Cs.
Your first year includes a free warranty covering polishing and cleaning. After the first year, a small charge will apply for these services.
Logistics, Resizing & Cancellation
Your first resize is always free of charge if requested within 30 days of your purchase (see our T&Cs for details). You can check your size at a local jeweller, or with our ring size guide, and then send the ring back to us. Resizing takes approximately 10–15 working days from the day we receive your item.
Extremely secure. We use discreet packaging and insure products up to the point of signature on delivery. For security, the delivery address must match the cardholder’s card details unless you provide additional identification and proof of address for an alternative shipping location.
Yes. Contact our sales team directly for our selection of fonts.
We do not offer returns on bespoke items or engraved items. Earrings cannot be returned due to hygiene reasons. We thoroughly review all stages before you commit, and our full return procedure is detailed in our T&Cs.
TW refers to the Total Weight of all diamonds in a piece of jewellery. This is often listed after the weight of the main centre stone (if applicable), indicating the combined weight of all accent stones.
Transparency & Values
Transparency builds trust. It’s the foundation that lets you, our customer, see the full picture behind your bespoke purchase with us.
As Anikah grows, transparency will be central to our culture, ensuring all team members embrace honesty and accountability. It will also allow you to track our progress in sustainability, traceability and ethical practices.
Absolutely. We hold ourselves to the highest standards, as more customers demand ethical engagement from the companies they support. We are committed to only selling products that do not harm people or the planet — because the cost of doing otherwise is too high.
We focus on key issues like mental health, neurodiversity and the environmental impacts of climate change in Bangladesh, which are often overlooked in the jewellery industry. These concerns are personal to us, and we will be open about our experiences and advocate for change.
Anikah is committed to being transparent about our practices, from sustainability and ethical sourcing to fostering a culture of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) and wellbeing. We invite you to explore our journey towards earning B Corp and Butterfly Mark certifications, setting new industry standards for transparency. Our business practices will always be visible, allowing you to make informed choices for a greater good.
